Aktuellster Virus:

As of August 9, 2004, 11:30 AM (GMT -07:00; Daylight Saving Time), TrendLabs has declared a YELLOW alert to control the spread of this WORM_BAGLE variant. Several infection reports indicate that it has been propagating rapidly in the United States.

This memory-resident, mass-mailing worm propagates via email by sending out TROJ_BAGLE.AC, which downloads it into receiving systems.

It uses its own Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) engine to send email. Its email has a spoofedsender's name, no subject, and with the string "new price" in its message body. It searches for email addresses in files with certain extension names and skips those addresses that contain particular strings.

It sends out ZIP attachments containing TROJ_BAGLE.AC and HTML_BAGLE.AC, which executes the said Trojan.

To propagate via network shares, it drops copies of itself in folders that contain the string shar in their names. It assumes that these folders are shared in local networks or in peer-to-peer networks.

Like other BAGLE variants, it attacks certain NETSKY variants by removing registry entries and creating mutexes with the same names used by the NETSKY variants. Mutexes are exclusion objects that prevent processes from sharing the same resources. The worm uses the mutexes to prevent the NETSKY variants from running on infected systems.

This PeX-compressed worm runs on Windows NT, 2000, and XP.
